In an explosive exchange with Will Cain, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche delivered the clearest message yet from the Trump Department of Justice: political accountability is meaningless when billions in taxpayer dollars meant for children’s lunches and elderly medical care have been looted.
Real accountability means arrests, prosecutions, and jail time and no one, including sitting or former Democrat politicians, is immune.
Will Cain laid it out plainly while discussing Tim Walz dropping out of the governor’s race:
CAIN:“Tim Walz dropping out of the governor’s race is NOT ENOUGH of a form of accountability for the people out there that are having thousands, millions, hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars stolen from them through fraud!”
Blanche didn’t hedge. He didn’t play games. He confirmed exactly what Americans have been demanding:
BLANCHE:“Yes, that’s right. Here’s how we talk about accountability: we talk about arrests, prosecutions, and jail sentences. And that’s exactly what we’re doing at the Department of Justice.
We’re working with inspectors general, the FBI, DHS, and HSI agents. Just a few examples: a jury convicted a Florida man of over $8 billion in Medicare fraud just last week. Another man in Minnesota was sentenced to 41 years in prison for fraud.
These are cases involving fraud of the worst kind—fraud committed against the people who deserve that money the most: children who need school lunch assistance and elderly Americans who are having all kinds of medical procedures billed in their names without their knowledge or consent.
This is money coming from the federal government. It’s your tax dollars. It’s my tax dollars. The only way we can hold these people accountable is by putting them in jail.”
