A wealthyMainelawyer and author has been found shot dead at a $9,000-a-month senior living facility.

Robert Fuller Jr, 87, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head inside his apartment at the Cogir Potomac Senior Living facility inMaryland.

The body of the beloved lawyer, author and philanthropist was found by the Montgomery Fire Department and police officers just after 7.30am on Saturday.

He was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement.

Officials have determined that Fuller's death was the result of a homicide but said no suspect has been identified yet.

Fuller was well-known in the Maine city of Augusta after practicing law in the area for more than 35 years.

He moved to Maryland to be closer to family,Bangor Daily Newsreported.

In an email toWTOP, Cogir of Potomac Executive Director Rachel Grant said she was unable to share further details to protect the integrity of the investigation.
