Puka Nacua practiced with his Rams teammates on Thursday, but many of the questions he fielded from reporters following the workout had nothing to do with the routes he ran or the touchdowns he scored.
In his first meeting with media members since he wassued in March for allegedly biting a womanon New Year’s Eve, Nacua was grilled about the lawsuit and all the turbulence that’s since ensued.

And while Nacua abstained from commenting on the specifics of a woman’s shocking claims against him, the Pro Bowl wide receiver opened up on what the situation has taught him.
“With it being an ongoing legal battle, out of respect for the other party involved, I don’t really have that much to speak on,” he said. “But as I previously stated, [it’s] a moment for me to learn from kind of some of the situations I was putting myself in. And then also having just an awareness of how I’m conducting myself in and out of this football field.”
Madison Atiabi alleged in a court filing that while she, Nacua and their mutual friends were enjoying an evening out in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, Nacua muttered an antisemitic remark at a dinner before he bit her while they were in a sprinter van on their way to their next location.
Nacua ended updodging criminal chargesover the allegations, but his civil case against Atiabi is ongoing.
Nacua ultimately checked himself into rehab as the woman’s lawsuit made its way into the public eye — and when reporters asked about what he learned during his stint at the holistic facility in Malibu, he got candid.
“Some of things I feel like I’ve learned is it’s OK to ask for support,” he said, “and then to recognize the platform that I have and being a professional football player and trying to use that for the betterment of myself and for those around me and the people that have supported me.”
