TheVillage of East Hillswill host its annual Summer Blood Drive for the New York Blood Center on Sunday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Theater at the Park at East Hills.

Each donation can provide blood for up to three people, benefiting accident and burn victims, patients undergoing heart surgery, those receiving cancer treatment and others in need of emergency transfusions.

Eligible donors must be healthy, at least 16 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Donors under 17 require parental consent, and those 76 and older must present a physician’s letter. The donation procedure takes 10 to 12 minutes and is performed by a trained New York Blood Center professional. Non-residents are welcome to participate.

Appointments are recommended. To schedule one or for more information, contact Eliza Liebowitz at (516) 500-1250 [email protected].

The village is also partnering with the Nassau County Police Department to hold a prescription drug disposal drive the same day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents can drop off old, unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications for proper disposal, keeping them out of the environment and away from potential misuse.
