Playing alongside theNFL’s MVPis apparently not as glamorous as it seems.
Eric Ebron revealed on the “Raw Room” podcast this week that Matthew Stafford caused him some gnarly injuries when the two were Lions teammates over a decade ago.
Ebron talks about getting to know Megatron because Matt Stafford was dislocating their fingers with passes!
“I was struggling,” the ex-Detroit tight end said during a candid interview. “I wasn’t catching the ball. Stafford throw hard as hell. I ain’t never seen no s—t like this. He done dislocated four of my fingers.”
Ebron explained to the show’s hosts that he had no ill-will toward Stafford over the matter —“He’s still good. That’s my job to catch the f—king ball, right?” he said. But he did disclose things got so tough for him in his rookie year, he actually had to say some words to the quarterback about it all.
“I’m trying to figure this n—a out,” Ebron said. “I’m telling him. I’m like, ‘Cuz. You ain’t gotta throw that s—t that hard, bro. I’m five yards in front of you, n—a. Chill.’”
Ebron, the Lions’ first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, then divulged that Calvin Johnson was the one who helped him solve his problem with the 2009 draft’s top overall selection.
Johnson showed him how to tape his fingers because Stafford “also f—ked up Megatron’s s—t,” Ebron said.
“He was like, ‘I’ma teach you my ways of just dealing with s—t,” Ebron added.
