Roslyn High School teams took the stage Wednesday, May 20, to introduce their startup company ideas at ACCELerator Pitch Night. Student entrepreneurs showcased their creativity, business acumen and problem-solving skills before an audience of peers, mentors and “Roslyn Sharks.”
First-place honors were awarded to Versa, founded by Abby Forchheimer, Chloe Herman, Ashley Ratner and Sophie Rosenman and mentored by Elisa Frischling. The team introduced VersaBrush, an innovative styling tool featuring one handle with three interchangeable brush attachments designed to combine beauty, fashion and convenience.
Second place went to Wizz, created by Maya Karnovsky, Zachary Szerencsy and Phoebe Weinschel under the mentorship of Jeremy Geller. The team presented its product as “The No. 1 solution to your No. 2 problem.”
Third place was awarded to Hydrobelt, founded by Kayla Donnenfeld, Chloe Gross, Julia Rehill and Harris Zimmerman and mentored by Ryen Sherman. The team’s product is an insulated hydration and misting system worn around the waist to provide instant refreshment on the go.
