Sewanhaka students present at Arizona science fair, one receives full scholarship to Chinese science university

Elmont Memorial High School student Christina Bayne and New Hyde Park Memorial High School student Ethan Lin represented New York State at theRegeneron International Science and Engineering Fair,held May 9-15 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

The students presented their research alongside more than 1,700 STEM students from over 67 countries, regions and territories. Participants had the opportunity to collaborate with peers and connect with global STEM leaders, while more than $7 million in awards and prizes were presented.

Bayne also received a special award: a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to Westlake University in Hangzhou, China, a research university focused on scientific talent and emerging technologies.
