Students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade at Floral Park-Bellerose School explored interactive ways to support healthy minds and bodies during the school’s annual Wellness Fair, held May 21-22.
Teacher Caitlyn Pereira organized the two-day event, which transformed the gymnasium and library into hands-on wellness experiences focused on physical, emotional and mental well-being.
Students collaborated on a positivity paper chain, sampled bell peppers, explored calming sounds through steel drums and hand chimes, completed an agility course and made stress balls and fidget rings.
Other activities included yoga, coloring and a calming corner featuring sensory mats, a tent and books.
Members of theDon’t Press Send Club, Calm and Confident Club, Student Ambassadors and Student Council volunteered throughout the event, leading activities and supporting fellow students.
