Kind and dedicated kindergartners from Mineola’s Meadow Drive Elementary School recently proved that no one is ever too young to make a meaningful difference.
Through a creative, student-led fundraising initiative, the young learners successfully raised $670 to support the Children’s Medical Fund at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The centerpiece of the campaign was the creation of handmade, vibrant “Smile Bracelets.”
The enthusiastic students marketed and sold their jewelry to family members and supportive school staff.
To boost their sales and spread joy throughout the community, each classroom took on the role of a marketing agency – producing original commercials and designing promotional posters centered around their heartwarming motto: “Kids helping kids!”
To honor the students’ hard work and generosity, representatives from the Children’s Medical Fund paid a special visit to Meadow Drive Elementary School. During the celebration, every participating kindergartner received an official certificate celebrating their unique creativity, empathy and inspirational dedication to supporting other children in need.
