The gymnasium at Mineola’s Hampton Street School was buzzing with energy and curiosity on May 14 as second-grade learners officially debuted their highly anticipated projects at the annual STEAM Fair.
The afternoon event welcomed proud parents, teachers and administrators, transforming the school into a vibrant hub of hands-on discovery and youthful innovation.
The STEAM Fair serves as a culmination of weeks of hard work, critical thinking and problem-solving. Working individually or in small teams, these young learners took on the roles of scientists, architects and engineers. Visitors were treated to a wide array of interactive displays, ranging from self-watering plants and water powered rockets to innovating playground designs, musical instruments made from recycled materials and much more.
Mineola’s future scientists, artists and engineers are already proving that no idea is too small when they have the imagination to back it up.
