On Memorial Day weekend, Garden Grove was an international news story for a terrifying reason: A chemical tank at a local aerospace companywas in danger of exploding.

Together, our community made itthrough the crisisand worked together to prevent the worst outcome from happening. Our story became a story of triumph, not tragedy.

But for thousands ofresidents of Garden Grove, Stanton, Westminster and neighboring communities, the chemical tank incident turned everyday life upside down in a matter of hours.

Families were evacuated from their homes, small businesses were forced to close, workers lost wages and parents anxiously waited for reassurance that their children were safe.

In the midst of this crisis, our community demonstrated remarkable strength.

First responders worked around the clock, volunteers stepped up to support displaced families, while local organizations, schools, and neighbors came together to help one another.
