“Obsession is gonna beat talent” is on the wall of Sahil Dhaneshra’s room, a line that now feels like a broken promise he made to himself. The23-year-old, who was killedon the spot after a speeding SUV, allegedly driven by a minor, rammed into his bike near Dwarka in West Delhi, had filled his room with reminders of ambition and self-belief: “They want to fly first class. I want to own the plane.” But now all those dreams are broken and Sahil's mother is searching for answers.

"My son was a student of BBA, in his final year, and his last semester was going on. He was about to fly abroad within a few months. His call letter had already arrived, and he was working very hard. I have already told everything to the media. I do not accept this law, and I will not accept it. Whatever it is, it cannot be forced upon us. Law and order is meant for the public; it cannot be imposed on the public. We will not accept this," Sahil's mother, Inna Makan told PTI.

While posters in his room already tell the story, his friend recounts, how the 23-year-old wanted to grow himself and even motivated others to pursue life in the same way.

"He wanted to settle abroad, go to Germany, earn a lot of money and keep his mother comfortable," his friend told Times Now.

"He had to pause his studies for a while due to financial difficulties, as he came from a single-parent family. He always supported his mother and was actively involved in their family business. He was never idle at home and worked hard every day. We didn’t meet him much because of his work, but he was a very motivated and disciplined person...,"another friend told PTI.

Scribbles like "Obsession is gonna beat talent" show Sahil's ambitions.

According to Sahil's mother, just two days before the accident, he was telling his grandmother, “Nani, am I a child? Am I that small? Mom wants me to just sit at home..., For everything my mother has done for me, I will one day seat her on a golden throne.”

On February 3, the police filed a case at Dwarka South Police Station under sections 281 (rash driving), 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 125(a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS. The same day around 11.57 am a fatal accident was reported to have happened near Lal Bahadur Shastri College.

The police at the spot found an SUV, a car and a motorcycle in an accidental condition. The motorcycle rider, later identified as Sahil Dhaneshra, was found dead at the spot.

During investigation, the SUV driver, identified as 17-year-old Akshatra Singh, was found without a driving licence and was apprehended. The minor was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to an observation home. The police said he was granted interim bail on February 10 by the JJB on the ground that he was a class 10 student and due to appear for his exams.
