A Jericho man has pleaded guilty to grand larceny for embezzling nearly $1 million from his employer, using company credit cards to buy thousands of dollars worth of personal expenses.

Gregory Morgan pleaded guilty to charges including grand larceny, 39 counts of falsifying business records and criminal tax fraud on May 22, according to a press release from theNassau County District Attorney.

Morgan is expected to be sentenced to one to three years in prison, the press release said, despite a recommendation from the Nassau County District Attorney of three to nine years.

“For two years this defendant cashed in on deception to the tune of nearly $1 million, concocting fake invoices to steer company funds to his own businesses and spending the ill-gotten gains on a luxury lifestyle,” District Attorney Anne Donnelly said in the press release.

Some of the purchases Morgan made with company cards include a 36-foot Cigarette Gladiator boat, more than $100,000 in home improvements, $36,000 in an Amazon shopping spree, Apple watches, an electric scooter and a $2,000 Miele coffee maker, the release said.

Morgan had been working as a sales representative for a digital printing company since 2015, but when the company discovered Morgan had been making unauthorized purchases, he was fired in October 2023.

An investigation by the NCDA revealed that Morgan used his two companies, GM Concepts and Morgan Concepts, to steal about $914,432 from his employer through fraudulent invoices by diverting payments from his employer’s company to his own.

The investigation also found that Morgan did not claim additional income tax between 2022 and 2023, while he was benefiting from his scheme. Documents from the state Department of Taxation and Finance show Morgan underpaid income taxes by about $95,003.

On June 25, 2025, Morgan surrendered to the detective investigators, according to the press release.
