8th Pay Commission Update:The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has announced its upcoming visit to Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where it will hold discussions with various stakeholders, including central government bodies, employee unions, institutions and associations. The meetings are scheduled to take place on July 6 and 7, 2026, as part of the Commission’s nationwide consultation exercise ahead of preparing its recommendations.

According to an official notification issued on May 26, 2026, interested organisations and associations wishing to interact with the Commission during the Odisha visit must apply online within the prescribed deadline. The Commission stated that stakeholders interested in meeting its members during the Bhubaneswar tour can submit appointment requests through the official online portal available on the 8th CPC website. Applications must be completed on or before May 31, 2026.

The notice said, “Interested stakeholders who wish to meet the 8th Pay Commission during its Bhubaneshwar visit can submit a request for an appointment through the designated online link given on the8th CPCofficial website on or before May 31, 2026.”

Authorities have clarified that only eligible organisations, institutions, unions and associations connected with central government employees will be considered for interaction during the visit.

Memorandum Submission Mandatory For Stakeholders

The Commission has also made it compulsory for applicants to submit a memorandum before seeking an appointment. Stakeholders must provide the ‘unique memo ID’ generated after uploading their memorandum on the official 8th Pay Commission portal. This requirement is expected to help the Commission streamline consultations and review key demands, concerns and recommendations raised by employee representatives ahead of formal discussions.

The 8th CPC has already announced similar consultation schedules for Srinagar, Ladakh and Lucknow as part of its outreach programme across states and Union Territories.

Earlier notifications issued by the Commission confirmed that meetings would be conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh during June 2026. The Commission is scheduled to visit Srinagar from June 1 to June 4, while interactions in Ladakh are planned for June 8.

For the Lucknow meetings, the Commission had invited central government organisations, institutions and unions based in Uttar Pradesh to apply for appointments. Venue information and detailed schedules are expected to be communicated separately to shortlisted stakeholders.

The Commission has also clarified that additional consultations in other states and Union Territories will be organised in the coming months.
