Nearly two years after losing their only son in a road accident, a couple in Chhattisgarh allegedly died by suicide at their home, the police said. According to reports, Krishna Patel(48), and his wife Rama Bai(47) were found hanging from a neem tree in the courtyard of their home. According to Villagers, as per a report by NDTV, the couple was not able to bear the loss of their 21-year-old son, Aditya Patel, who died in a road accident in 2024 and had gradually withdrawn from social life all these years.
Police from Rahoud outpost confirmed that a four-page suicide note was recovered from the spot. In it, Krishna described Aditya as "our lives' foundation, our world... an obedient son and a friend." He recalled the day his son had gone out to assist a village priest with temple work and a yagna, writing that insisting on it was "the biggest mistake of my life."

"He left me forever," he wrote as per NDTV. "We were alive... but I was not living."
In the note, the couple stated that no one should be blamed for their decision. "We are both consciously and willingly offering ourselves to Lord Shiva. No one is to blame for this. Please bid us farewell with a happy heart." "Do not grieve for us. We are leaving this world in complete peace, without desire, and in a joyful spirit."
Before taking the extreme step, the couple recorded a video message addressed to their lawyer. "If we are no longer alive," they said in the video, "please ensure our son Aditya's claim money goes to our elder brothers. This is our request."
Police said the bodies were sent for postmortem and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
