An IndiGo flight (6E 6017) operating from Bengaluru to Chennai was preparing for departure and taxiing towards the runway on Tuesday (May 26) when smoke was detected inside the aircraft at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). As a precautionary measure, an immediate evacuation was initiated, and all relevant authorities were promptly informed.

According to the airline, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated and moved to the terminal. IndiGo said its teams are assisting those on board and taking necessary steps to ensure their comfort and well-being. The airline has arranged an alternate aircraft to operate the flight, which is expected to depart shortly. Refreshments are being provided to passengers during the wait.

IndiGo has reiterated its commitment to safety of passengers, and added that the safety and security of its customers and crew remain its highest priority.
