Arjun Tendulkar at last got an opportunity to play for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2026, and delivered an outstanding performance, making father Sachin Tendulkar proud. It was a dead rubber for the LSG, who were already out of the playoff race, and the team handed a debut to junior Tendulkar. Even though LSG lost the game as Punjab Kings (PBKS) comprehensively chased 196, Arjun emerged as the best bowler, taking a wicket for 36 runs in four overs.
Tendulkar, who rarely posts for Arjun on social media, took to X and penned an emotional note.
"Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match. Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always," Sachin wrote on X.
Reacting to the team's performance in IPL 2026, where they finished 10th, losing 10 out of the 14 matches, Pant said it was a great learning experience, and the team will look to come back stronger next year.
"Initial thoughts are - it's a tough one. Still have to bite the bullet regardless of anything. Gonna keep our head high. There has been a lot of learning regardless of good or bad. Definitely a tough season for us as a team for sure. Want to look at the positives as a team. Josh has come in and played a brilliant knock. Mitch is not here - he has done really well for us. Bowling - Prince has had an amazing season. Last few games he's been here and there but he had a terrific season, got an Indian call. Mohsin coming back from injury. Definitely a lot of positives. Especially Shami bhai, the way he has kept that fast bowling unit together has been wonderful to see.
" Sometimes idea without accountability is the harder thing to do. At the same time you gotta keep focusing on the right thing and be on the right path regardless of good and bad. You accept everything and move on from it. It's been a long season, but at the same time, just keeping our head high and we promise to come back stronger next year, regardless of anything," he said.
