US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Saturday shared a photograph while travelling from Kolkata to Delhi along with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, his wife Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio and US Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.
The photo, posted by Gor on social media, offered a glimpse into the high-profile US delegation’s journey ahead of the diplomatic engagements in Delhi. The group was seen aboard the flight heading to the national capital after their visit to Kolkata.
Taking to X, Gor posted the image and captioned it: "In the air to Delhi!"
After accompanying US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the Missionaries of Charity headquarters in Kolkata,Gor on Saturday said that the India-US partnership is built not only on strong policy ties but also on shared values and a spirit of selfless service.
Earlier on Friday, the US Ambassador to India expressed his excitement over Rubio's visit to India and said, "Just got a call from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio — he’s taking off for India right now! Excited for this important trip!” he wrote on X.
His four-day tour, which also has his planned visits to Agra and Jaipur, comes ahead of the Quad foreign ministers’ meeting on May 26.
Rubio is expected to hold extensive discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday.
