The United States-India defence partnership continues to grow stronger and their joint efforts are key to ensuring a safe Indo-Pacific, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said after visiting the Indian Army’s Western Command. Gor, along with Samuel J. Paparo, commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, visited the headquarters and held discussions with Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar on strategic security dynamics along India’s Western Front.

The Indian Army’s Western Command said the two sides held substantive discussions on the security situation along the Western Front. The delegation was comprehensively briefed on operational preparedness, the Command’s distinguished legacy, the execution of Operation Sindoor and the Indian Army’s role in nation-building and strengthening regional stability, it said.

Earlier, Admiral Paparo said the India-US defence partnership has a unity of purpose to maintain peace through strength and described the relationship as being on a “steeply-upward trajectory". He also noted that both countries share convergence of interests and are looking to further bolster defence and military ties, particularly in the maritime domain.
