Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are playing their final league game of the IPL 2026 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. All eyes were on VIrat Kohli, as RCB came in to chase down a huge total of 256 runs. However, Kohli could not score big as he got out for 15 runs from 11 balls. However, despite this short stay at the crease, Kohli managed to break yet another world record.

Virat Kohli stitched a massive 60-run opening stand with Venkatesh Iyer. This is now the 211th 50+ run opening stand that the superstar Indian batter has been involved in throughout his T20 career.

He went past England opener Alex Hales, who was involved in 210 50+ run stands in his T20 career. Apart from Hales and Kohli, only David Warner has stitched more than 200 fifty-plus scores in his T20 career.

At the toss RCB captain Rajat Patidar said that he himself returned to the lineup after missing the last game due to a concussion issue. The one who went out was Jacob Bethell, who missed the action with a finger injury. With Bethell out, the reins of the opening batter was handed over to Venkatesh Iyer, who won the Player of the Match for his knock against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

He continued his good form, hitting 44 runs from 19 deliveries.

SRH won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a good start, with Abhishek Sharma taking charge, slamming 56 runs from 21 deliveries. He stitched two important partnerships for the first two wickets with Travis Head and Ishan Kishan.

After that, Kishan continued the onlaught alongside Heinrich Klaasen. The duo put of 113 for the third wicket, as Klaasen ended with 51 runs. On the other hand, Kishan top scored with 79 runs. Nitish Reddy slammed 29 runs from 12 balls in an important cameo at the end. They put on 255/4 at the end of their 20 overs.
