The US government on Friday released a second set of formerly classified records detailing alleged UFO encounters, featuring witness accounts of mysterious green orbs, discs, and fireballs. The latest disclosure builds on the first batch of documents made public on May 8, following direct orders from President Donald Trump. The releases are part of a broader government effort to declassify information on unidentified flying objects that dates back to the late 1970s.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth emphasized the importance of transparency in a statement accompanying the release.

“It’s time the American people see it for themselves,” Hegseth said.

“This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.

Among the 222 files made public on Friday is a detailed 116-page report covering investigations and sightings at a highly classified facility in Sandia, New Mexico, between 1948 and 1950. The location is near Roswell, New Mexico — the site of the famous 1947 incident that has long fueled conspiracy theories about a possible UFO crash.According to the Pentagon, the Sandia report documents 209 sightings of “green orbs,” “discs,” and “fireballs” reported near the military base. The newly released materials include documents, images, and videos related to what the government now refers to as “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAP).

Officials say the files have fueled public speculation for decades, and the administration hopes greater openness will help address long-standing questions. This marks the second major release of UAP-related records under the current administration. More batches are expected in the coming months as the declassification process continues. The full collection of documents is now available for public review through official Pentagon channels.
