Carle Place High School celebrated its annual Athletics Senior Signing Day on Friday, May 15, where 13 student-athletes were recognized for committing to continue their academic and athletic careers at colleges and universities across the country.

Director of Athletics Justin Block opened the ceremony by recognizing the coaches, teachers, athletic staff and families who played an important role in supporting the student-athletes throughout their journeys. He also commended the seniors for their commitment and ability to excel both academically and athletically during their time at Carle Place High School.

The seniors then had the opportunity to speak and express their gratitude to the coaches, teachers, teammates and family members who supported them throughout their athletic and academic journeys. Following the remarks, each student officially signed with their respective college or university.

The following students were honored: Olivia Abbatiello (softball, Regis College) Joseph Buffolino (football, Western New England University) Philip Bunt (baseball, SUNY Old Westbury) Aidan Butt (lacrosse, Springfield College) Isabella DeGroot (softball, Albertus Magnus College) Grace Esposito (field hockey, SUNY Cortland) Ryan Leary (football and basketball, Pace University) Vincenzo Pisani (lacrosse, SUNY Maritime College) Angeliki “Kiki” Psalidas (cheerleading, St. John’s University) Megan Rice (field hockey, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) Thomas Schoch (baseball, SUNY Old Westbury) Lucas Viegas (soccer, University of Hartford) Alexa Wenger (field hockey and lacrosse, SUNY Cortland)
