The Village of Bellport will be holding a general election for two trustee positions, each with a four-year term on June 16, 2026. The annual trustee salary is $5,400
The polling place is the Bellport Community Center located at 4 Bell Street. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Running for the two positions are Jean-Damien Lury, incumbent Dan Polner, and current deputy mayor, Nathan Rohrmeier.
The village elections are at-large, i.e., the two candidates with the most votes will be elected to the open trustee positions.
The Long Island Advanceinterviewed the candidates about their thoughts on expanding village services and community participation.
Jean-Damien Lury has 20 years of experience in corporate real estate. In his international career, Lury said he has lived in many places around the world and honed his ability to serve a diverse group of clients. Lury has been a Bellport Village resident for nine years.
ADV:What do you believe is the best approach to generating more revenue from Ho-Hum Beach?
LURY:For me, the question of increasing revenue and reducing cost is not limited to Ho-Hum, but something the Board should always be looking at so that we can be fiscally responsible to the residents of Bellport. We saw many increases this year not only in Ho-Hum-related rates like ferry, locker and docking, but also across tennis, kayak/paddleboard/dingy storage, boat slip fees and renter ID cards, yet many are still below comparable market rates.
There are, of course, days in the village when activity to Ho-Hum is slower, yet there are plenty of ways to generate more traffic to it, such as:
