Patchogue-Medford students Kiersten Schaeffer took her second nomination, and winner from last year, and Sydney McHugh, was also nominated at this year’s Teeny Awards.
“These young women are extremely talented and we are so excited that they have been nominated representing Patchogue-Medford this year at the Teeny Awards,” said Michele LaMartina. “So incredibly proud of them and cannot wait to see all the places they will go in the future!”
Kiersten is a senior who will be gradating and going to Northeastern - NYC for musical theatre. She had the role of Darlene Love in “Leader of the Pack” at Patchogue-Medford, which is now up for The Mary Ann Mortorano Lead Role in a Musical Award.
Sydney McHugh had the role of Featured Dancer in “Leader of the Pack” at Patchogue-Medford, which is now nominated in the category of outstanding performer in a musical.
Sydney is a member of the Elite Dance Company at Stage Door School of Dance in Patchogue. She also studies at the Gateway Acting School for the Performing Arts in Bellport and was recently seen in the teen ensemble of “Frozen The Broadway Musical” at The Gateway Playhouse. She was also a dance captain for this year’s production of “Leader of the Pack.”
