A new platform has been launched in the United Kingdom to monitor and document incidents of anti-Hindu hate and discrimination. The initiative, called the Anti-Hindu Hate Monitoring Centre (AHHMC), was introduced amid growing calls from sections of the Hindu community for better reporting systems and stronger recognition of anti-Hindu prejudice in Britain.
According to the organisers, the platform will collect complaints, document incidents and publish reports to help track patterns of hate and discrimination faced by Hindus in the UK.
Those behind the initiative said many victims do not report such incidents and argued that existing systems often fail to properly identify anti-Hindu bias.
Supporters of the platform say a separate monitoring mechanism has become necessary due to concerns over harassment, vandalism and online abuse targeting Hindus.
The launch comes after debates in the UK over religiously motivated hate incidents and communal tensions reported in recent years.
Organisers said the centre plans to work with community organisations, legal experts and policymakers to encourage more people to report incidents and improve awareness about anti-Hindu discrimination.
The initiative has also revived discussion on whether anti-Hindu hate should be tracked separately within broader hate-crime categories — similar to systems that monitor antisemitism or anti-Muslim discrimination.
Currently, the UK government records hate crimes based on categories such as religion, race and other protected characteristics. However, campaigners have argued for more detailed classification to better identify trends affecting specific communities.
Supporters of the new centre say it will release periodic reports and data on reported incidents, which could help shape future policy discussions around hate crimes and religious discrimination in the UK.
