Scott Jennings, PSEG President and COO
If Scott Jennings has one message for Long Island residents, it is to get involved in their communities.
“Every single person can make a difference,” said Jennings, who moved to Amityville from New Jersey to serve as PSEG Long Island’s President and Chief Operating Officer.
“Start with the simple things,” he added. “President Teddy Roosevelt began talking about a conservation movement and that turned into the National Parks, which today covers more than 85 million acres in all 50 states and US territories.”
A 30-year PSEG employee, Jennings said his focus on Long Island will include maintaining affordability and reliable electric service for approximately 1.2 million customers across Long Island and the Rockaways.
Since arriving in January, Jennings has already taken an active role in the community, joining the Board of Directors of United Way of Long Island.
“We are honored to welcome Scott Jennings to our board,” said Theresa A. Regnante, United Way of Long Island President and CEO. “Scott’s thoughtful approach and deep understanding of the evolving energy landscape will strengthen our ability to serve our communities with reliability, innovation and purpose.”
Jennings said the decision aligned with his long-standing commitment to nonprofit service. “United Way meets so many needs,” he said. “I thought it was a good fit.”
His nonprofit leadership includes serving as Chair of the Board of St. Vincent’s Academy in Newark, along with involvement in religious, educational, and youth sports organizations.
Jennings holds a BBA and MBA in Accounting from Pace University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has also completed leadership programs at Harvard University and Lead NJ.
