Philip Giraldi, the former CIA analyst, said in an interview on Wednesday thatPresident Donald Trumpfinds himself in a tough predicament because he continually describes Iran as a defeated country, while still trying to portray it as a threat to continue the war.

“On one hand, Trump wants to make look like we've won, we've defeated [Iran], and he's a winner, and on the other hand, he wants to make it look like Iran is still a country that poses a threat against the United States with this fictional nuclear weapons program, and, of course, he is backed up by Israel with all this stuff. And he's backed up by the U.S. media, with some exceptions, [who] are afraid to raise these issues in any kind of serious way,” he toldJudge Andrew Napolitano’s Judging Freedom.“We have a government that lies to us to go to war; we're in a war illegally; it's very clear that the country that they attacked did not threaten the United States in any way;and the only country in that area that threatens the United States is Israel because they're going to get us into this war, come hell or high water. Even if it takes a false-flag operation.”

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Wednesday that if President Donald Trump makes good on his threats and attacks again, the response will be devastating for the region and “beyond.”

“Although they attacked us with the full capabilities of two armies – the most expensive armies in the world — we did not bring all the capacities of the Islamic Revolution into action against them,” the statement read, according toPressTV.“But now, if aggression against Iran is repeated, the regional war that had been promised will this time be drawn beyond the region, and our crushing blows will bring you to absolute ruin in places you cannot imagine.”

Trump told reporters that he is in no rush to make a deal with Iran.

“Everyone is saying, ‘The midterms, I’m in a hurry.’ I’m in no hurry,” Trump said.
