A fresh controversy has erupted in theTwisha Sharma Death Caseafter an alleged audio clip of a conversation between Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma, and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, surfaced online, triggering new allegations of emotional harassment and character shaming inside her matrimonial home. In the purported recording, Giribala Singh is allegedly heard defending deeply personal questions asked to Twisha regarding her past relationships and sexual history shortly before her death.

The conversation reportedly includes questions about whether Twisha had “been with other men”, whether she had relationships “for favours”, and whether such behaviour would continue after marriage.

The audio clip also allegedly captures Giribala Singh saying that “promiscuity can be a habit” while justifying the remarks made to her daughter-in-law. In another disturbing section of the conversation, she is purportedly heard drawing comparisons between Twisha’s past relationships and women involved in prostitution.

Referring to a previous interaction with Twisha, Giribala Singh allegedly claimed she had worked in Reshampura in Gwalior and “worked with prostitutes”, before allegedly stating that “some people sell their brains, so they earn… some people sell their bodies, so they earn.”

The audio clip has intensified outrage around the case, with Twisha’s family alleging sustained mental harassment and humiliation before her death.

Meanwhile, a Bhopal court on Wednesday (May 20) dismissed the family’s application seeking a second postmortem. The court dismissed the plea, saying the district court does not have the jurisdiction to direct such a transfer or order a post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi.

Twisha, 33, originally from Noida, was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12, barely five months after her marriage. Since May 13, her body has remained at the AIIMS Bhopal mortuary as her parents refused to take custody, alleging foul play and demanding an independent probe along with a fresh autopsy.
