“We have a lot of building going on in the village right now,” said Edward P. Butt, building inspector in the Village of Plandome Manor, during a board meeting on Tuesday, May 19.
Butt said six different construction sites will begin throughout the village.
“So, it’s gonna be a very busy summer” he said.
In addition to the building sites, a crosswalk on North Plandome Road is awaiting final approval. It’s expected to improve pedestrian safety. The improvements are expected to include two double-sided signs and flashing beacons to indicate someone waiting to cross the street.
Repairs for Stonytown Road are going to face delays as the board is looking to further improve the road conditions beyond sealing the cracks.
Other items on the agenda include the approval of a one-year contract with GoGov, which allows the board to foster easier connections with its residents. It is expected to be implemented starting in June.
Officials said the village is ready to send out its tax bills and residents can begin paying starting June first until July first. Anyone looking to pay online should expect a 2.95% surcharge when paying with a debit or credit card.
The board also approved a new budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, where the village will begin with an $80,000 surplus.
Further board meetings are planned for June 16 and July 21.
