TheGold Coast Book Fairreturnedto Oyster Bay on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, for a third straight year, bringing thousands of readers to Audrey Avenue to enjoy a wide range of book events and activities.
The book fair featured headlining authors H.W. Brands, Joan Lunden, Susan Lucci, Jay McInerney, Patrick Park, A.T. Qureshi, Ali Rosen, Claudia Rueda, Danielle Sepsy, DeMaurice Smith, Emma Straub, and Cheryl Thompson, and had appearances from over 150 authors. It featured book signings, a vendor marketplace, games and activities, food, a children’s stage, a poetry corner, and 11 venues of author programming.
The fair was organized by the Gold Coast Forum, which brought people from across Nassau County to downtown Oyster Bay for the two-day event.Former U.S. Rep. Steve Israel, who now owns Theodore’s Books in Oyster Bay, formed the book festival in 2024 in hopes of bringing best-selling authors to local residents.
Book fair organizers said the event went well and that they were happy with the turnout.
