The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the nation’s most competitive academic honors. Of the more than 1.3 million students who enter the program each year, approximately 16,000 are named semifinalists based on their outstanding PSAT/NMSQT scores. Semifinalists must then meet rigorous requirements to advance to finalist standing, including demonstrating a strong academic record, leadership and community involvement, as well as submitting a detailed scholarship application.
From more than 15,000 finalists nationwide, approximately 6,930 students are selected to receive National Merit Scholarships.
Colin was selected as a 2026 National Merit Scholarship winner, placing him among the most accomplished graduating seniors in the country. This honor recognizes their academic excellence, commitment to learning and future promise.
In addition, Adriana has been named a recipient of the ADP Henry Taub Memorial Scholarship. Corporate scholarships are financed by businesses and organizations that support the National Merit Scholarship Program and are often awarded to students who meet criteria such as career interests, academic focus or affiliation with the sponsor organization.
“We are incredibly proud of these students and their remarkable accomplishments,” said Richard Roder, principal of Manhasset Secondary School. “Their hard work, perseverance and dedication to excellence represent the very best of Manhasset.”
