State Assembly Member Charles Lavine donated $150,000 to North Shore High School for a new press box at Stadium Field, replacing an aging structure and supporting athletic programs for future generations of student athletes.

Lavine joined North Shore Schools Superintendent Chris Zublionis on Friday, May 8 at the high school stadium, where the two met on the bleachers to mark the donation and celebrate the completion of the new press box.

“There is no better investment than in the future of our children and public education,” Lavine said. “So when I was approached by the North Shore School District about their need to renovate their high school press box, it was hard to say no. It is now a source of pride and functionality for students, athletes, staff, administration and families for generations to come.”

The funding will support the new press box, which district officials said was needed after the previous structure, in use for many years, reached the end of its useful life.

Zublionis praised Lavine’s continued support of the district and said the donation reflects his longstanding commitment to North Shore students.

“We are so grateful for the support of Assemblymember Lavine, who was instrumental in helping fund this project,” Zublionis said. “He has supported the North Shore Schools in so many ways over the years, and it has always had a direct positive impact on our students.”

The new press box will serve as a central feature for North Shore Vikings athletic events and other school gatherings, providing improved functionality for students, staff and families.

District officials said the upgraded facility will be used by generations of students and represents an important investment in school infrastructure and community pride.

North Shore school leaders also thanked Lavine for his dedication to public education and his longstanding partnership with the district, calling the donation another example of his support for local schools and student opportunities.
