The Re-NEET UG 2026 date has been announced following a late-night high-level huddle at the Education Minister's residence. During the discussion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had a comprehensive discussion with senior officials.
As per NTA's last notice, the registration data, candidature, and examination centres opted for in the May 2026 cycle will be carried forward to the re-conducted examination. No fresh registration will be required, and no additional examination fee will be levied. In addition, fees already paid, will be refunded to the students.
Although the Re-NEET exam dates 2026 have been announced; NTA is yet to publish the date for re-issuance of NEET UG 2026 admit cards. For now, both students and their parents are advised to rely only on these official channels and to disregard unverified reports circulating on social media.
NEET UG 2026was cancelled on May 12 by NTA after inputs from central agencies and findings shared by law enforcement indicated that the integrity of the examination process had been compromised due to alleged paper leak concerns. The decision, affecting over 22 lakh students, was ratified by the Government of India.
Both the NTA and the Centre faced intense backlash for failing lakhs of aspirants who toiled through the night to secure admission to their dream colleges. Not just aspirants, opposition leaders, along with educators and others, slammed the government for its inability to conduct fair examinations.
