T'way Air has been recognized as the "2025 Outstanding Transit Airline" at Incheon International Airport, making it the only Korea-based carrier to receive the transit passenger growth award for two consecutive years, the airline announced Friday.
The Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) presented the award at a ceremony held alongside its 2026 airline incentive briefing, attended by 14 domestic and international carriers.
T'way Air was recognized for strengthening transit sales across its route network and providing dedicated gate check-in and baggage connection services for transit passengers.
According to IIAC data, the number of passengers transiting through Incheon International Airport on T'way Air flights rose approximately 69 percent year-on-year, from around 57,000 in 2024 to approximately 97,000 in 2025. The airline's transit ratio — the share of transit passengers among all passengers — climbed from 2.6 percent to 4.1 percent over the same period.
Growth has continued into 2026.
In the first quarter, T'way Air carried approximately 28,000 transit passengers through Incheon, up about 26 percent from roughly 22,000 in the same period a year earlier. The first-quarter transit ratio also rose from 3.6 percent to 4.1 percent.
The airline said it plans to expand transit services beyond Incheon to regional airports including Daegu and Jeju to improve connectivity for foreign travelers.
T'way Air added that it recently changed its registered corporate name to Trinity Airways following a shareholder vote, with flight operations under the new name to begin after the completion of all required domestic and international regulatory approvals.
"Two consecutive years of recognition reflects the results of close cooperation and joint marketing with IIAC," a T'way Air official said.
