Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins just became best friends.
The two Raiders newcomers, who arevying for the role of QB1in Las Vegas this season, each participated in a “Step Brothers” parody for the team’s schedule release video on Thursday — making a clear effort to quiet those who have predicted a failed relationship between the competitors.

Mimicking the way John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell went from enemies to BFFs in the 2008 classic,Mendoza and Cousinsfirst lined up on the Raiders’ practice field and had a staredown.
“You’re going to have to call me Kirko Chains,” said Cousins, who signed a five-year, $172 million contract with the Raiders last month.
“Cool,” Mendoza, the 2026 NFL Draft’s No. 1 overall pick, replied. “You’re going to have to call me the Nandolorian.”

The guys, putting their football spin on the iconic Dale Doback and Brennan Huff characters, then toured the Raiders’ locker room before they found common ground over “Star Wars” and their favorite play.
“Did we just become best friends?” Mendoza said.
The full video is a little under three minutes and features clips of the signal-callers measuring their hands and gawking over a “signed sword from Las Vegas’ own Donnie Osmond.”
