Friends, Africa is the future. The African continent is full of natural resources, and it has a rising population. Right now, there is a huge movement taking place across the African continent to reject French colonialism and the legacy of French colonialism, with the Union of Sahel States and the great African leader of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré.

That is why it is certainly disturbing to find out that someone who is a good friend of the Center for Political Innovation, and who has spoken at our gatherings before, Joti Brar, leader of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), has been arrested on the African continent at a demonstration that is part of this wave of anti-colonial struggle.

Joti Brar was in Kenya with activists from around the world who were participating in the World Anti-Imperialist Platform gathering. She joined peaceful demonstrations calling for an end to French colonialism and French imperialism in Africa. She, along with a number of other people, was arrested.

At first, many would assume that demonstrators arrested at a protest would be released within a matter of hours. However, it has now been more than 48 hours, and as of this moment, she and her comrades have not yet been released. They are still being held in jail in Kenya.

From what we understand, she is not the only one being detained. A number of other activists are being held with her — people from Korea, people from across the African continent, and people from different parts of the world who were attending the World Anti-Imperialist Platform gathering.

On top of that, we understand that protests are now taking place around the world. Demonstrations are occurring in South Korea, in United Kingdom, and elsewhere. We want to add our voices to the growing international chorus demanding: Release the World Anti-Imperialist Platform protesters. Release Joti Brar and release all of them.

It is not a crime to peacefully protest. These activists were not outsiders making trouble. They were there representing what is overwhelmingly the will of the people on the African continent. Time and time again, we have seen African people come together to say they do not want France to dominate and oppress them, and they do not appreciate French, British, and American corporations ruthlessly exploiting them.

The people of Africa want economic growth. They want development. They want an end to the globalist imperialist system. They want Africa to take control of its own resources and its own economy in order to build and grow.

The Center for Political Innovation stands with Joti Brar, with the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, and with everyone who has been arrested. We call for their immediate release, and we hope that Joti Brar can soon return home to her family in Britain.

We also support her brother, Ranjeet Brar, who is facing criminal charges for alleged anti-Semitism related to his anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist speech in Britain. We stand with him as well.
