Members of President Donald Trump's Secret Service detail have reportedly clashed with Chinese officials after they were denied entry into a historic Beijing temple because one of the agents was carrying a gun.
A member of the press reported that the "intense" standoff occurred on the first full day of PresidentTrump'sstate visit with President Xi Jinping. Xi and Trump, whose worrying four-word confession about his son was exposed by a lipreader, discussed trade disputes, tensions over Taiwan's sovereignty, and, of course, the Iran war.
Upon leaving his meeting with Xi, the president remained tight-lipped about how the two hours and 15 minutes meeting went. The president then toured the 15th-century Temple of Heaven with the Chinese president. It comes aftera bizarre bulge was spotted in Trump’s pants - leading to an alarming accusation.
It was then that the standoff occurred. According to White House press pool, the agent accompanying reporters was flagged by Chinese security and denied entry to the temple's compound because of his firearm.
"The pool’s entry to the temple complex was delayed by nearly half an hour by a lengthy and increasingly intense discussion between US and Chinese officials, after Chinese security refused to allow a Secret Service agent accompanying the pool to enter the temple compound with his weapon," AFP correspondent Danny Kemp reported. He added that press officials were held briefly "while U.S. and Chinese officials who are keeping us in a side room have a spirited debate about whether we can move."

He later added that a "compromise was eventually found." Details regarding the compromise were never released.
According to Kemp, members of the press were once again held in place after Trump left the temple. Kemp once again reported that the pool had endured "another brief delay while U.S. staff and reporters had an even more spirited discussion with Chinese officials, who several times tried to stop them from leaving and joining the (presidential) motorcade.”
The Irish Star reached out to both the White House and Secret Service for comment. The Daily Beast reported that several major security initiatives were rolled out during President Trump's two-day visit.
