A new Sea Cliff business is offering “something for everybody,” while its owners say the store provides a sense of community.

TheSea Cliff General Storeheld a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in partnership with the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, on Saturday, April 25, where elected officials and community members gathered to celebrate its official opening.

Located at311 Sea Cliff Ave. within the village’s business district, the store carries a mix of home goods, locally inspired gifts, pantry items, candles, apparel, specialty products, and more items that “you don’t really find on Amazon or online.”

“We really try to carry something for everybody,” Laura Bonelli, the owner of the store, said. “We try to get the best in class and keep everything affordable.”

Bonelli said she and his husband, Ralph, moved to Sea Cliff from Williston Park four years ago and fell in love with the area.

“Towns like this are so rare that we fell in love with all aspects of it,” she said. “It’s a beautiful town. It has such beautiful homes. It is very community oriented. There are so many things about it that attracted us to this village.”

Bonelli said the couple had found a building for sale, and ended up purchasing the multi-use property, where Sea Cliff General Store would later be located.

She said her parents owned a bakery in Queens when she was growing up, and ever since then, she has wanted to become a small-business owner herself. Bonelli currently serves as president of LifeVac, a medical device company that manufactures a non-invasive, handheld, plunger-like suction apparatus designed to clear airway obstructions during choking emergencies.

People throughout the village helped transform what was once a bar into their new store, which held its soft opening on Nov. 15, 2025, Bonelli said. Both of her children help out at the store, and Bonelli said she likes to offer people in the community the opportunity to work there.

The store has held several events featuring local live music since its opening, and 10% of the store’s proceeds are donated to the Sea Cliff Arts Council.
