Seoul's estimates indicate that approximately 2,000 North Korean soldiers have been killed in the fighting, underscoring the significant human cost of Pyongyang's military involvement.

Kim further reflected on the martyrs' final thoughts, adding, “Before their death, the heroic martyrs must have pictured in their mind’s eye their dear families living in the ever-prospering country.” While Monday's KCNA report made no direct reference to Russia, it aligns with Kim's pledge last week to “unconditionally support” all policies and decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
