Actor Jun Ji-hyun is drawing attention for her disciplined self-care routine.
Recently appearing on the YouTube show Channel Fullmoon, Jun shared stories with the cast of the upcoming film “Colony.” Director Yeon Sang-ho mentioned that she often brings vegetables and healthy snacks to the set to share with others. He especially praised her beef jerky, saying that it was unlike any jerky he had ever tasted before.
Her habit of packing her own healthy snacks even while filming quickly became a talking point.
Explaining her routine, Jun said, “If I eat too much while filming, I can’t concentrate well and I get sleepy, so I pay more attention to my diet during shoots.”
She also revealed that she does both personal training and kickboxing. “Kickboxing is great because it pushes you to the point where you feel out of breath,” she said.
Actor Koo Kyo-hwan shared that Jun carries around a cooler box with celery sticks and jerky to share with the staff.
Celery is known as a low-calorie vegetable rich in dietary fiber, while jerky is a high-protein snack popular among people trying to maintain muscle mass and stay full longer.
In reality, heavy meals — especially those high in refined carbohydrates or sugar — can cause postmeal drowsiness and blood sugar fluctuations. In situations requiring long hours of focus, lighter and more balanced meals may help maintain steady energy and alertness.
