Costco’s famously chaotic gas linescould soon get a whole lot shorter… at one giant location.

The bulk shopping retailer is set todramatically expand its Santa Clarita fueling stationafter city officials approved plans for a huge overhaul of the site.

ANotice of Exemptionfiled by the City of Santa Clarita shows the project was approved March 24 and includes demolishing a vacant building at 18649 Via Princessa and replacing it with a new fueling facility.

The filing states the project will include a new fuel canopy, 16 multi-product fuel dispensers, four underground storage tanks, new parking and landscaping, while the existing fueling station will be decommissioned and demolished.

ATikTok postedby Barnes Group Realty said the former 24 Hour Fitness building next to Costco is already being torn down to make room for the expanded station.

The video claimedthe current Costco gas stationhas 12 pumps, while the new setup will feature 32 fueling positions with two pumps at each station.

The applicant for the project is listed are Core States Group on behalf of Costco Wholesale.

Santa Clarita officials determined the project qualifies for a California Environmental Quality Act exemption under a Class 32 in-fill designation, finding the project would not create significant impacts tied to traffic, noise, air quality or water quality.
