Lucknow:Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced a series of measures aimed at fuel conservation. These measures include an immediate 50 per cent reduction in the number of vehicles in the fleets of ministers and officials. Yogi Adityanath also urged people to cut fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary purchases of gold. The UP CM’s directions came amid the global instability due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Yogi Adityanath said that the people of the state must implementPrime Minister Narendra Modi’sappeal for resource conservation in the wake of the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran.
The CM has also urged the Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives to use public transport at least once a week
“No Vehicle Day” should also be observed once a week, with participation from the government employees, students of schools and colleges, and other sections of society as well, the CM directed.
Yogi Adityanath further asked the senior officials of the state to remove unnecessary vehicles from the fleet of the ministers and CM himself.

The CM also urged the people that they should avoid unnecessary purchases of gold, and local administration should also hold meetings with jewellers association and traders to address their concerns.
The CM has also called for prioritising a work-from-home culture amid the global crisis of fuel. He stressed that the public should use metro services, public transport, and buses operated by the state road transport corporation.
CM directed the Industrial Development Department and the UP State Industrial Development Authority to encourage industrial institutions and major startups to adopt work from home practices. A state-level advisory may be recommended for work from home for two days a week where there are too many employees.
In the meeting, CM Yogi also emphasized that the meetings, seminars, conferences, and workshops of the government should be conducted virtually so that people can save up the fuel.
