Disturbing video captured the vicious beating of a man on the Huntington Beach boardwalk by a mob of high school-agedkids riding e-bikes.

Sam El-Said, who moved to the city three years ago, toldKTLAthat he and his wife were riding scooters home on Saturday night when they came across several hundred teens gathered on the beach, boardwalk and a nearby grassy area.

El-Said said he slowed down to make his way through the crowd when someone hurled a glass bottle that struck him in the face.

The bottle shattered on impact or was already broken, leaving him with minor injuries, he said.

After stopping and getting off his scooter, El-Said said someone hit him from behind and knocked him to the ground. About four to six high school-aged kids then kicked and stomped on him while he was down.

Cellphone footagecaptured the beatdown‘s final moments, with one teen shown pulling others away as El-Said remained on his hands and knees. A crowd of teens — some laughing — could be seen standing nearby.

When El-Said stood up, blood could be seen running down his face.

Police said El-Said managed to detain one of the teens involved.

The suspect was arrested and cited for misdemeanor battery, authorities said. Police added that El-Said declined medical treatment at the scene.
