Disney's newest cruise ship line was forced to cancel a journey after a mechanical fault was discovered. TheDisney Adventure cruise departingSingapore on May 7 was unexpectedly cancelled after guests had already boarded, and they were subsequently asked to disembark.

According to oneReddituser, passengers weretold they'd be able to "set sail soon". They wrote: "Midnight now. We’ve been waiting here since 2 p.m., and they have no update for us. What’s even worse is they’ve shut down all kitchens, coffee, etc. Why would they do that?"

Guests were offered a full refund, 50% off a future sailing, complimentary hotel accommodations for May 7, reimbursement for hotel and flight changes, up to $500 coverage for incidentals

Disney told USA Today: "We completely understand this was an unfortunate situation for our guests and worked with them directly to support their travel needs, help make their trip home as smooth as possible and invite them back to a future sailing."

The Adventure cruise thendeparted for its scheduled next sailingon May 11 after the mechanical issue was resolved.

The ship, the largestin Disney Cruise Line's fleet and thefirst to be homeported in Asia, debuted this March.

It offers three- to four-night cruises featuring seven themed areas that bring Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories to life, including Broadway-style shows and fireworks at sea.

As of mid-2026, the Disney Adventure sailing from Singapore generally starts around $958 to $1,396 for two adults in an inside cabin for a three-night cruise.
