In yet another preventable tragedy enabled by soft-on-crime policies in blue cities, a repeat offender walked out of a psychiatric ward and immediately murdered an innocent man in New York City.

Ross Falzone, a 76-year-old retired teacher and social worker for children with special needs, is dead after being shoved down a flight of stairs in Manhattan by a career criminal who should never have been on the streets.

According to the New York Post, the suspect had been detained earlier that afternoon as an “emotionally disturbed person” outside an NYPD station house.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, evaluated, and released just over an hour later. Five hours after that release, the horror unfolded.

The suspect, 32-year-old Rhamell Burke, had assaulted two other people on the subway the previous week. Those victims reportedly refused to cooperate with police, saying they didn’t want to put “another black man behind bars.”

The Post reports that Burke was in court just five hours after the incident for a completely unrelated assault. He was able to walk free because no one recognized him.

This is the deadly reality of revolving-door “justice” in Democrat-run New York City. Violent predators are cycled in and out of the system with zero consequences until an innocent person pays the ultimate price.
