New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) has developed quite a reputation for putting her sanctuary-madness policies ahead of New Yorkers’ safety.
In the summer of 2025, the Department of Homeland Security blasted Hochul (D) for secretly pardoning last month a 52-year-old Laotian refugee from the Vietnam War era to help him evade deportationfor the Christmas Eve 1988 deadly shooting of a man in a pool hall fight in Brooklyn.
The agency wrote on X at the time, “@GovKathyHochul, your shameful secret is out. Rather than putting New Yorkers first, you’re protecting a criminal, illegal alien KILLER with a rap sheet including convictions for manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm. If you are a convicted criminal alien, you should not have the privilege to be in this country. President Trump and @Sec_Noem will continue fighting to protect every American citizen and remove the worst of the worst from our nation.”
In June 2025, during an explosive House Oversight Committee hearing with Sanctuary State Governors, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene eviscerated Hochul’s sanctuary state policies and demanded that she face justice for the murder of Laken Riley.
Greene forced Hochul to face the horrors of New York’s sanctuary policies and Biden’s open border by sharing the tragic results of her policies, including a 13-year-old girl who wastied up and rapedin a New York park in broad daylight by an Ecuadorian illegal.
She was also confronted by the story of police officers who wereattackedafter trying to stop a group of illegal youth gang members who were living at the lawless Sanctuary City of Manhattan’s Row Hotel on the taxpayers’ dime.
Greene showed Hochul the horrific photo of the woman who wasset on fireinside a New York City subway car by a Guatemalan illegal alien just days before Christmas last year.
She then turned to Hochul’s most heinous crime: Laken Riley,a talented young nursing studentat the University of Georgia. Riley was brutally murdered while jogging on campus by Jose Antonio Ibarra, a criminal illegal alien that New York arrested and released “quickly before ICE could even issue a detainer,” Greene noted. “He flew from the state of New York to my home state in Georgia, and you all paid for it.”
Border Czar Tom Homan appeared on Fox News and doubled down on the criticism of Hochul.
“There’s no other reason you’d want significant public safety threats to walk the street in New York.”
