Guwahati:Assam Chief Minister-designateHimanta Biswa Sarmaon Monday announced the names of four Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and the Speaker of the state assembly who will be sworn in on Tuesday along with him. Sarma will take oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term on May 12 at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati.

"Happy to announce that the following four colleagues of mine will take oath as Ministers tomorrow along with me in the august presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji," the Assam CM-elect said.

Rameswar Teli:He is a BJP leader and belonged to the OBC tea community of the state.

Atul Bora:He belongs to the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) He hails from Chutia ethnicity at Borahi Gaon in Golaghat District.

Charan Boro:He is the leader of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF). He belonged to the Boro (Bodo) community. It is an indigenous group recognised as a Scheduled Tribe (Plains) in the state. He is a member of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and served as a cabinet minister of Assam.

Ajanta Neog:She is a BJP leader and belonged to the Chutia ethnic group through her marriage to the late Nagen Neog. Notably, Neog is a recognized Assamese surname, often associated with a lineage or clan. She is a prominent BJP politician and the first female Finance Minister of Assam, representing the Golaghat constituency.

About Sarma's Swearing-In Ceremony:

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara in Guwahati at 11 am. Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of the NDA-ruled states from across the country will also be present.
