Four candidates are vying for three seats with three-year terms on the Levittown School District’s Board of Education, with residents heading to the polls on Tuesday, May 19.
Trustees Jennifer Messina and Phyllis Dalton are seeking new terms on the board and newcomers Daniel Larkin and Anne-Marie Guerra are looking to join it. Trustee Michael Pappas is not seeking reelection.
Messina is a previous vice president and president of the Levittown Board of Education and is a special education teacher with experience supporting students with autism. She has served on the school board for nine years.
Messina did not respond to requests for additional comment.
Dalton has been a board member since 2023 and has lived in the community for 40 years. She has worked in education for over 25 years, serving as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and principal.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and public communication from Queens College and a master’s degree in reading from St. John’s University.
Dalton did not respond to requests for additional comment.
Larkin is a 1993 graduate of MacArthur High School who is now looking to join the district’s board of education. He is a graduate of Long Island University Southampton who began his careeras a Merchant Marine officer.
He also has 10 years of experience as a risk mitigation analyst, and now serves as asenior business process analyst at Altera Digital Health, according to his LinkedIn.
Efforts to solicit comment from Larkin about his campaign were unavailing.
