TheManhasset Public Libraryvisited the Manhasset Secondary School on Friday, May 8, to host the Nassau Library System’s Techmobile for a celebration ofNational Library WeekandNational Library Outreach Day,which took place in April. Librarians Amy D’Arco, Theresa Vogel and Peri Litt collaborated to make Manhasset Middle School the first school to ever host the Techmobile.

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.National Library Outreach Daycelebrates the vital role the Manhasset Public Library plays in bringing resources to locations and events throughout the community.

This visit, coordinated by the librarians at the Manhasset Public Library and Manhasset Middle School, gave students the opportunity to experience theTechmobilefirsthand. The Techmobile, run by Shawn Nenos at Nassau Library System, is a state-of-the-art tech library on wheels and is equipped with a Nintendo Switch, VR headsets, 3D printers, a button maker, laser engraver, and more. Students were able to sign-up for a time slot to try out the tech resources.
