South Grove Elementary Schoolwas full of action last week as the Student Council wrapped up the Cereal Box Challenge on Monday, May 4. The school’s students and families showed up in a big way, proving that when it comes to helping their community, they are truly “All Paws In.”

The school announced that they collected a total of 242 boxes forLong Island Cares, building on the success of their Thanksgiving Food Drive. Students demonstrated incredible empathy, kindness and fever-pitch excitement in the gymnasium as they lined up the boxes for a massive domino run. With the whole school counting down, they watched as a single tip started a spectacular chain reaction—a perfect visual of how one small act of kindness can spread throughout an entire community.

The school wishes to thank everyone who donated a box and helped them “topple hunger.” The South Grove superstars continue to shine, proving that “Lights, Camera, Learn” is about much more than just what happens in the classroom—it’s about the heart everyone can show to a neighbor.
